It is a pit of nothingness full of vile ash and fire... it smells of rotting flesh being roasted off of bone... In the air there is only hopelessness and the grief is so vast you can taste it...
Eh? Pretty good for an atheist!

It will be what happens when a person faces the judgment day, sees in perfect clarity how he rebelled against God and His commandments, see how his rebellion has hurt so many people, and see the nail scarred hands of Jesus who died for him in order that he could have a chance to repent and be saved yet he slapped those hands away. This person will shrink away in an endless guilt and shame that will burn as a fire forever. This is far worse than some sort of physical representation of burning in a lake etc. The Bible says there shall be wailing, weeping and gnashing of teeth... it is because of the guilt and shame... how they blew it so bad and wasted away their days of probation.

Hell is a place that is visible only in one's mind. It can be whatever it is that you make it to be, including your own reality. It is individual, but many can call the same place hell at the same time (even though for another that same place may be "heaven"). Hell, basically, is what ever you make it to be.

Check out Botticellli's drawings for Dante's book about hell. Good renaissance drawings of hell and the tortures suffered within.
These pictures can help.

My perception is that we create our own hell, if you are doing worse things, but u think you r doing correct, u will be not in hell, and if you think that joy is wrong and suffering is right you dont need to die to be in hell...
