I'm sure the official Catholic stance is that smoking weed is wrong - a "sin" of selfish hedonism, etc.
Moral: Give up Catholicism.

Techinically anyone who is christian should "follow the laws of man unless they go directly against the worship of God" A law to not smoke mary jane, does not effect your ability to be a good catholic so, if you are a real catholic you will stop.
Or not be catholic any more, it's your choice.
Then again, you do have that confession thing... so maybe that makes it ok?? I don't think there's anything in the bible that says that.

+ Marijuana +
Without even considering whether marijuana is unhealthy or not, using illegal drugs is immoral because they are illegal.
Christians reside in their own nations, but as resident aliens. They participate in all things as citizens and endure all things as foreigners. They obey the established laws and their way of life surpasses the laws.
The citizen is obliged in conscience not to follow the directives of civil authorities when they are contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons or the teachings of the Gospel.
We must obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)
Using illegal drugs for recreational purposes is breaking a law that is not contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons nor the teachings of the Gospel, and is therefore immoral.
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 2240-2242: http://www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt2.htm#2240
+ Medical Marijuana +
To the best of my knowledge the Church has not made a position known on the use of medical marijuana.
The scientific, legal, and philosophical debate is still out on medical marijuana as is shown in the attached documents.

I'm Catholic, and from a religious standpoint, I don't see anything wrong with using it in moderation. After all, alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine are allowed in moderation, and Pope John Paul II drank coca tea. Catholicism is against the abuse of drugs, not their mere use. However, if due to inane drug laws, you are unnecessarily jeopardizing your family's safety and security, I would regard that as sinful.

"Honor Your Parents"
This commandment includes civil authority like the government and it's laws. Should your government deem it "Illegal" then it's upseting God.
However, Jesus did break laws that didn't make sense ... like not being able to feed yourself on the Sabbath Day. Drrr ... he was hungry ... I honestly can't think of a reason you could justify this habbit with God.
Since the Catholic Church owns and operates many "Pallitative Care" facilities (care giving for the dying) it does support the States that have passed laws to use marijuana as a "Medicine".
BTW, recent studies shows that THC seems to be causing psychological problems for habitual users later in life. Also, smoking a joint is = to smoking a pack of ciggarretts ... IDK why u'd wanna destroy u'r body like that.

You cannot serve two masters; God and marijuana.
As a Catholic you must have a respect for health. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:
2288 Life and physical health are precious gifts entrusted to us by God. We must take reasonable care of them, taking into account the needs of others and the common good.
Concern for the health of its citizens requires that society help in the attainment of living-conditions that allow them to grow and reach maturity: food and clothing, housing, health care, basic education, employment, and social assistance.
2289 If morality requires respect for the life of the body, it does not make it an absolute value. It rejects a neo-pagan notion that tends to promote the cult of the body, to sacrifice everything for it's sake, to idolize physical perfection and success at sports. By its selective preference of the strong over the weak, such a conception can lead to the perversion of human relationships.
2290 The virtue of temperance disposes us to avoid every kind of excess: the abuse of food, alcohol, tobacco, or medicine. Those incur grave guilt who, by drunkenness or a love of speed, endanger their own and others' safety on the road, at sea, or in the air.
2291 The use of drugs inflicts very grave damage on human health and life. Their use, except on strictly therapeutic grounds, is a grave offense. Clandestine production of and trafficking in drugs are scandalous practices. They constitute direct co-operation in evil, since they encourage people to practices gravely contrary to the moral law.

There is nothing in the Bible against smoking marijuana.
Genesis 13:14-18 contains a story of a sex-for-drugs trade. Not only was the exchange not condemned, but God rewards the Leah with a child, which was her objective.
Mandrake root is a drug:
"During wheat harvest, Reuben went out into the fields and found some mandrake plants, which he brought to his mother Leah. Rachel said to Leah, "Please give me some of your son's mandrakes." But she said to her, "Wasn't it enough that you took away my husband? Will you take my son's mandrakes too?"
"Very well," Rachel said, "he can sleep with you tonight in return for your son's mandrakes."
So when Jacob came in from the fields that evening, Leah went out to meet him. "You must sleep with me," she said. "I have hired you with my son's mandrakes." So he slept with her that night.
God listened to Leah, and she became pregnant and bore Jacob a fifth son. Then Leah said, "God has rewarded me for giving my maidservant to my husband." So she named him Issachar.
