Getting a good score on MCAT standardized test is not dependent on the length of preparation but on how well did you prepare.

A year of review is good enough. You may do a general review from the beginning for 6 months identifying your strengths and weaknesses. Give more emphasis on areas you are weak for 3 months. Finally, have an overall extensive review for another 3 months before the exams. That would be sufficient enough to prepare for the exams.

By the way, answering practice exams is one of the best ways of preparation.Conditioning yourself is also a must. Good luck!

My classmate took all the courses and spent months prepping and got a 37R. I spent a few hours a couple days a week for about three weeks and got a 37Q.he was older and we I'm not saying he wasted his time, or that I am better. Rather it is really an individual thing, depending on how you study and how ready you are before prepping. Get a book of practice tests and you can gauge for yourself where you are.

Assuming you've been taking the usual courses of late, go ahead. My preparation consisted of going a day early to the city in which I was taking the test and getting rip-roaring drunk. It worked for me, though I can't guarantee results.

lets see you should first worry about spending your 4 years in pre med school to first study the basics then go on to worriing about the test so in a sence it should take about 3 years. because you usually take the mcat test in your junior year.
