They have a master map back at the church...

Huh?

"Mark" really why the insult?

First, we only come back if someone wishes to speak more about the scriptures together that's all...if the person wants to be a worshiper of Jehovah then thats great but if not then that's fine too....

We don't "mark" people's houses or something..

We do however write down which house does not want a visiter and we do not return again...Now we may return in a year and the reason why do that is because

1. Maybe the person had a change of heart..
2. Maybe the person moved out and a new family moved in

So really there are reasons why we return not because we want to force it on you...

We offer free home bible studies...

Free........

What other "Christian" religion offers FREE Bible services..

Who?

And their literature?

So we don't "mark" peoples houses down we just simply write down a record of the person of the house so we may be up to pair...

Adios....

Jehovah Witnesses write a report on which homes to goto and homes they shouldn't goto. This report is passed along to other people who cover the area another day. After knocking for at least a minute, we mark the home as a not at home. If someone is really opposed to the Jehovah Witnesses, we mark that home so we won't go back to there. If someone is interested, we mark that home as a call back.

n9wff - The only reason why they did not come back is because they do not goto homes just to start argument. Most Witnesses know the Bible really well, and but still choose not to get into arguments. If you would like to discuss scripture with me, then ill be more than happy to. But if he turns into a heated argument, ill leave because nothing will get across between us. Get the point?

Jehovah's Witnesses do not use any expression similar to "mark a house". Perhaps the questioner is curious about the records Jehovah's Witnesses keep of their witnessing work.

When they do their initial door to door canvass of a street, Jehovah's Witnesses generally carry two "house to house records". One is for recording any appointments for followup, while the other is a record of seemingly "not at home" addresses. In most cases, the Witness will try those specific addresses once or twice again before returning that territory to the congregation as "completed". That's why Jehovah's Witnesses greatly appreciate householders with the courage to simply answer the door even if the householder knows who it is and knows he is not interested.

Jehovah's Witnesses are not going out in this hot or cold weather at their own expense to bother people, we go to find people who really WANT TO LEARN WHAT THE BIBLE REALLY TEACHES if you don't want us there just tell us, we'll mark you house number on a card & say "do not return" DO YOU THINK ITS EASY TO CARRY OUT THE COMMAND JESUS GAVE AT MT 28:19 it takes great courage to go to strangers doors & offer to talk to them about a subject that embarres them (which it should not, Jesus said that those who were ashamecd of him he would be ashamed of them)

n9wff, you are lying, no Witness would spend an hour arguing with a fool. You must have been talking to the Mormons. If they don't come back its because they don't want to throw their pearls to the swine.

since I made this, I will answer.
I argued with them for over an hour, using Scriptures to validate my claim as a Christian and that Jesus is God, which they do not believe. They left in a huff.
I believe this debate made a point. No use coming to this house, for they KNEW who I was, my beliefs and it would be to no avail to knock on my door again.
I was prepared for their beliefs and I countered them with Scripture, Hebrew and Greek studying, and the Holy Spirit.

They never came back.

Mark...as in how?

I know the LDS church...usually, if you make a big fuss over them being there, they'll write down that you refused the church and they wont return...

They caught me leaving for the shooting range the last time they were around. I guess they take it serious when you tell them that you better never see them again with a 9mm in your hand.

I think I mentioned Texas's property rights laws. Heck, I can shoot someone on my neighbors property here so you kinda have to listen. But anyhow, they don't come around anymore. Being labeled a crazy redneck has some advantages.

Hopefully not like a dog marks stuff.

Time to check my exterior, and put out the mothballs.
