You should have gotten a cone from the vet while you were there. You can still go back and get one - they're only a few dollars and will prevent a lot of problems.

Elizabethan collar! (the cones that they can wear). Your vet should be able to provide you with one. If you can stop her licking herself when you're with her during the day, you might only need to put one on her at night,

Dogs sometimes freak out initially when these are put on them, but give it a chance, they get used to them fast. They can still eat, drink and sleep fine with them on.

EDIT: WHAT Wendy?! 'A lot of money?' E collars cost like $5! A bucket is a rubbish suggestion - too heavy, and opaque! E collars are transparent, which it much better for the dog, they don't like to not be able to see around them.

One of the "funnel" collars would work. Give her a minute to see if she is going to lick before putting one on her, though.
Good job on getting her spayed!

all the other answers are going to cost you alot of money, my vet where i used to live gave instuctions on using a bucket, get it at your dollar store, and some string, yarn anything handy, cut the bottom out of the bucket and put/punch holes about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in and do this around the base of the bucket ( where you cut out, then take your string and tie the strings to her collar and you have a home made cone that will save you alot of money

The vet should have given you and Elizabethan collar for her. You can get one at Pets Mart or PetCo.
