here what i think personally. God is just a state of mind, he or she which ever you prefere is something that human beings need to hang on to, something to have faith in when times get touph or when one is lonley. I dont really think that "in the beginning" God made the man and all that (if i may say so) crap, because how does evolution, the dinosours, the fact that he only made two people (adam and eve) and they managed to populate the whole world even though they gave birth to two sons. how he managed to flood the world and it was repopolated by moses and his FAMILY.
please dont think i'm a cold blodded atheist, i did used to be a christian and i am only 16.

No one can say if god exists or not so be careful of those who wave a big flag with "prove it" written on it.
The bible was written before modern science gave us a different view of the world and before education was freely available, so be careful of that too.
Finally be careful of those who tell you that their belief is the right one, whatever that may be and be careful of telling someone else they are wrong or stupid for believing something you do not.
You can spend a long time getting comfortable with what you believe in and whatever that may be is the truth for you.

Yes he does there is enough proof around to see that it just depends if you go round with your eyes open or shut. People say there is no GOD just because things don't go their way, and I don't believe a true Atheist would be looking at pages to do with religion unless they want answers.
you talk about how God managed to flood the earth, well lets look at that in real life terms.
If there was a man called Noah then in those days his world would have been very small to what we now know of the world, so when the world was flooded it was Noah's world not the whole world.
What about evolution, have you ever thought this, Man made up the story of Adam and Eve, because they did not understand how we started think of it all those years ago and we have two little newt's who got down to it, and made Lot's more little newts and so on, you know the story, so how would man understand what happened when some people today don't understand it, we call it evolution, but who is to say that those first two little newts, I know lets give them a name Adam and Eve were not created by God.
You are putting to much in to the words of mankind and are missing the words of God, what i have said is a point of view, I can't prove any of it, but can anybody prove me wrong??

The existence of gods are known by the nature of man. Knowledge of the supernatural is as innate to man as the nature of sin. All cultures worship some form of supreme beings. The nature of the supreme beings differ. Ultimately, all but one are just serving creatures and creation.
Ok. Assume God does not exist. How did the universe form by random action so that life could form on earth? Do you know how fine tuned the universe is to support life on Earth? What was the energy source that was converted to all the known matter of the universe? Evolution is a good theory, but has an ever narrowing definition. Abiogenisis, the formation of life from non-living matter is not even answered by modern evolutionists. So, how did life form from random and accidental causes from any non living soup you may suggest? Miller like experiments at best only have resulted in biomolecules that in no way could organize in a real functional manner.
And Adam and Eve had at least three sons, Cain, Abel, and Seth. The average pre-flood lifetime was about 900 years. Assuming puberty still arrived at 13, that would mean most married couples would have at least 700 years to have 700 children in a lifetime. Using population growth formulas and those numbers, it is easy to see the world quickly populated in a few generations. The names mentioned in the Bible are only the prominent names. And Adam lived long enough to see the grandparents of Noah be born. So the oral tradition would be pretty tight.
Noah had three married sons on the ark. Again, after the flood, people during the first three generations after the flood were still living an average of about 300 years. So, each family could have easily had 200 children in one generation.
Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt, as told in Exodus.

Actually, when things get tough, some turn to God, some turn away from Him.
The laws of geneology tell us that we came from one human pair, whether we evolved or were created.
The Bible tells us that Adam and Eve had sons and daughters.
It was Noah and his family who repopulated the earth and it has been confirmed that the variety we see in the human family could well have come from his three sons.
There is also substantial geological evidence to support the Flood account and many cultures, even primitive ones, have legends and stories of the Flood, all with remarkable similarities.
Evolution teaches that we are because of a series of highly improbable accidents which is completely unscientific. Our ape-like ancestors are also nowhere to be found in the fossil record even though millions, if not billions, of them supposedly walked the earth at some stage. The bones that have been unearthed which are said to prove evolution could fit in a coffin.
I would encourage an honest-hearted study of the Bible. It's good to see a young person asking questions, the first step to finding the answers.

Gillian M, I accept your opinion and you are entitled to it, but having spent years studying the Bible I don't believe it to be the right one.

I also question the fact that if Adam and Eve had only two sons, where in the world did everyone else come from? Does that mean Eve slept with her sons too?...and believe that is universally called incest!...which is considered a sin in the bible right...In other words, am just as confused as you are. I do however feel that there is a higher power, I just have yet to grasp all these things
ps: am not anti- christian or atheist but just plain confused!

Do you exist? How do I know for sure. You could be the figment of somebodys imagination............................
The bible was written by man after the information was handed down for many many generations. If you've ever played the game 'telephone or pass it on' then you know how information can get twisted.
I once had a christian minister explain Genesis to me this way - it's the history of the Jewish people. The bible doesn't say that God never made more people etc.... it even mentions the land of Nod where one of Adam and Eve's children obtained a spouse................ so yeah, the bible isn't perfect or 100% acurate because it was recorded by humans and as all Christians know the only perfect man to ever live on earth was Jesus.

god does exisit and yes as you said many people have faith in him it doesn't make since for him not to i mean the bible doesn't tell you every thing and sometimes it doesn't make sense but that is the way god planned it to be he is an amazing god and can do anything so he had the power to create the dinosaurs and he had the power to help adam and eve populate the world and god flooded the world to rid it of sin and noah's family was faithful to god so they survived and repopulated the world and if you are going to be flooded by sin and not believe that's your choice but im telling you right now that is not the path you should choose

let's get truly confrontational here, you didn't used to be a Christian otherwise you will know Jesus is real. What you used to be was someone who was told or brought up to believe in christianity, without the vital ingredient of actually encountering Jesus for yourself. Until you have done that, and believe me it's entirely possible, it happened to me, it has happened to millions of people throughout history, you are in no position to argue that God is just a state of mind. The experiences of millions state that God is a real person with whom we have a real relationship.

Princess, you may only be 16, but you are wise beyond your years. The Adam & Eve example that you used is a good one. But you will find many, many more examples in the bible. Someone else suggested that you needed to read your bible. Well, I agree. You should. But read it with an open mind and you will continue to pickup on these irregularities/inconsistencies.
The bible stories have been rammed down our throats since we were in the first grade. These same stories have been passed down from generation to generation along with the admonition You must believe! Never question, never doubt because the lord works in mysterious ways. So we do that, like mindless robots and never question anything that we are told.
The sad truth is that more hate and discontent are fostered by the church than by any other cause.

first evolution is a crackpot theory which is just aligning diffrent species similarties to say, a single celled organism which lacks reason because a human. Dinosaurs were called dragons, until the 1800's when the word dinosaur was invented. Noah had three sons, they each gave rise to many naations, look at the table of nations. also it was noah and his family not moses.
