I just replaced my polaroid FXM 2611C with a TDA 03211C (actually polaroid did when the 26"er took a crap) Anyway, I recieve my signal over the air and all I did was take away the 2611 and plop down the 3211 and hooked up everything the same, but compared to the old one the picture on the new one sucks. I can change for example from channel 8 (analog channel) to 8.1 (HD Channel, and yes, I'm sure the evening news broadcast I was watching WAS in HD) and see no difference. It's not that the picture is bad, but it's not HD and it's not anything like the 26" was, so what's up. I called Polaroid and they are supposedly going to have someone call me in 3-5 days and set up a time for someone to come to my home to look at it, I just wondered if there was anything I could check out on my own. Thanks for any help.

A 26" and a 32" HDTV have exactly the same number of pixels. Since the 26" is smaller, the picture will actually look sharper (smaller distance between pixels) on a smaller TV.

Using your remote, press "info" or "display" to actually see the input resolution (480i, 720p, etc.) that the TV thinks it is receiving.

Polaroid isn't a very good brand for HD to start with. What cables are you using to connect your OTA signal? Are you sure you have an HD OTA antennea? Just because the Antennea can pick up the digital signal doesn't mean that is is being output to your TV in HD.

One hint:

It is not HD if the newscast is not done in HD. Just because the channel is digital 8.1 instead of analog 8.0 does not mean it is HD.

purchase a SAMSUNG HD reciever container..... Then connect with (specific, TO) the LOW DEFINITION output on it... you have a VIDEO enter on your television or get an RF modulator from RADIO SHACK to video show it on Channel 3.....
