You are not legally required to wear a fancy wedding dress, however, your wedding day is special and wearing jeans and a t shirt seems like you don't care. For my wedding (I had a registry office ceremony) I wore a dress I got from a catalogue - it was light grey, the top half was covered in silver sequins and beads and the skirt was calf length and quite floaty. It cost £105 and looked beautiful. I topped it off with a fascinator which cost £15. At the end of the day, you have the wedding you want - but I do believe that you should make the day special. You don't need a fancy dress, huge reception or large party; it's about the commitment you make to each other.

Well, I wore a wedding gown when I was married before a County clerk. But we had a fairly big wedding with bridesmaids and all the fuss and feathers.
If you're talking about being married privately, you certainly may choose to wear a wedding gown, but it's not required. Wherever you're married and whoever performs the ceremony you are well within your rights to wear anything from a tee shirt and jeans to a full wedding gown with train.
Choose what you feel comfortable wearing for the setting and level of formality you want.

go to pjmaxltd.com. They have lovely casual white knee length wedding dresses for you to wear that day. For a bride getting married in front of the Justice of the Peace/Magistrate, I would wear a knee length white or bone wedding dress or a beautiful bone white silk suit.Go to houseofbrides.com, then on left click informal wedding dresses. Go to Moncheri wedding dress #26189 and for quick delivery 14120. I thought that dress was perfect for your type of wedding. It is stunning. For silk suits I would go to a store in your area which carries formal occasion outfits, and they may have a lovely silk suit if you prefer that.

I had a fairly large wedding and wore a traditional cinderella style wedding dress, and I was married by a Justice of the Peace. It doesn't matter where you are married or by whom, jsut that you are getting married. You should wear whatever you want!

I wouldn't wear a regular wedding dress, but I would wear something simple. Because even though its a very simple wedding it should be taken seriously and shown with respect. Well at least that's how I feel about it

No, but I would probably wear a nice white sundress or something like that. If I did get a wedding dress, it would be more simple, not with a veil and train and everything. More like what some people wear to get married on the beach.

For the JOP or Magistrate, you could totally wear a "destination" dress. I wouldn't wear a huge puffy ball gown, but something more informal would work well.

Nope. I dont really see the point. I would wear a pretty cocktail dress, something special and feminine but not a big white poofy dress and veil.
I am getting married by a celebrant in our backyard next year and I dont know what i will wear yet, but it wont be a huge wedding dress. Something comfortable, feminine and flattering. Probably champagne colour...

I would prefer to get married with the big ceremony at the church, but I have a friend in your situation. I would recommend to her to wear a wedding dress because it is the most important dress in a female's life, and regret might happen if you don't wear it!
