Nope, a mutt by definition can't be a "purebred" because it's already a mix of dogs and two mutts may not have the same mix of dogs. When you have a purebred, it just means that someone is certifying their lineage.

No. Your brother is nuts. It will be a mutt. In order to be purebred it must be two of the same breed, AKC recognized dogs, in order to be a purebred. For example a Labrador Retriever bred with another Labrador Retriever. That is a purebred. 2 mutts combined just equals a new mutt.

*lmaorotf* A mutt is not a pure breed. He was saying it would be a purebred mutt because it would be a mutt on both sides, but that doesn't magically give the dog a pedigree. He was pulling your leg.

There is absolutely NO SUCH THING as a purebred mutt. With a purebred dog you are able to trace it's family tree -- all of it's members are known.

a mutt is a mutt and a mutt is a mix of breeds which would make them NOT purebred. i think your brother is messing with you or he is in his own little world

Your brother is wrong. There are pure breeds that look like mutts, but crossing two mutts does not create a pure bred

a puppy gets gave of it's genes from it's mother and the other half from it's father. if you have a rottie/shepherd mother and father then the puppies will still be rottie/shepherd. not full rottie. not full shepherd. just mutt

now if you breed a mixed dog with a purebred(purebred rottie with a rottie/shepherd) then then the best you can get is 3/4 purebred and 1/4 mutt

I guess we all know who got the brains in your family! Your brother is wrong. A mutt bred with another mutt will produce mutts!

Nope...a mutt is a mutt and if you breed them you will have more mutts.

Don't get me wrong, mutts can be wonderful dogs, but I wouldn't make one on purpose.

He'll be a pure mutt.

Mutt is not a breed.
