planes are good when you dont' have a great deal of time. need to be brief..
Trains .. now that s a fun way to travel-you can see lots of things along the way.

Really depends on where you are going. A bus from the mainland to Hawaii or Europe would be a little difficult, a plane would be much better. Or, if you have lots of time and money, a cruise ship. In Europe, Eurorail is spectacular. In the US, a rental car is probably your best bet depending on the distance. Long haul buses are miserable, but generally cheaper. Hope that helps!

Air travel is faster......don't know if it's better, I guess it depends on what airliner you fly and if you enjoy air travel.
Bus travel is tedious and not at all glamorous......unless of course you have a lot of time on your hands.
The train is okay, as a matter of fact, I enjoy train travel, it's comfortable and I always take a few good books to read and when I'm done reading, I just let the train's motion lull me to sleep.

from US to Japan: Plane
Cross-country:Train
Across the state: Bus
On the water: Boat
But my favorite way to travel is the bus -_-
