Two years ago a couple came to our local school here and complained about the children having a Christian program.Out of fear of being sued the name was changed to "holiday program".

The family that done this is of a religious sect that requires woman to cover their heads. Two of their daughters come to school with heads covered. As I write I feel the need for prayer, but I will continue to bring this spirit to light I am open to reproof if you see fit, I am sure I could use it.

I feel like they have attacked my Lord, and I take that very personal.

SHOULD I GO TO THE SCHOOL AND ASKED THAT THEY REFRAIN FROM WEARING THEIR RELIGIOUS GARB?

A Dog, this is not a joke.I wish it was.My Lord said that in the last days there would be ungoddlyness, and He was right as always.Being ungodly does not mean your a bad person. It means that you don't have God in your life.

Dear Brother,
I love your heart toward the Lord.
However, as you know,He does not need for you to defend Him. In fact this is an excellent opportunity for your faith to express itself through love ...agape Love.....the kind that is impossible without the Spirit of the Living God.......(which I believe you have)
The Scripture that comes to mind:
Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things.....Well read Romans 14:1-10..the whole chapter meditate on it.....you know prayerfully.....
Christian program or Holiday program we both know what it is.......and of course the Lord knows.......because it belongs to HIm. His Word never returns to Him void but accomplishes what it has set out to do.
May His peace and grace abound to you.
Your q's and a's are such a blessing.
Thanks for your presence here.

It sounds like it's a Christian School, first off I would have Never changed the Name in the first place, just becaus someone else chooses to wear head wear complains about it.
You have your rights as much as they have theirs. The fact of the matter is YOUR school was there before they were, so excuse me for saying it, if they have a Problem with it, they should leave the School and find a school accepting of their dress code.
If you feel your Christian Faith has been attacked, then by all means kick them out and set up some new guidelines.
This country has rights, you have a school that was intended from the sounds of it to be Christian, if they want to attend a Muslim school, they should create their own.....
If I was in your position I would ask them to respect the others in the school by removing the head wear or simply finding another school.
They can't have both, just like we can't both....

Um, what they wear or do not wear is not the same issue as challenging you to change the name of a program.

If the school has a dress code and uniforms, then the head covering could be seen as not adhearing to the dress code, but without a dress code or uniform, there would be no way to state that any person could or couldnt wear what they wanted other than what was already forbidden.

Now, what you can do. Most of those whom "cover their heads" require certain prayers in certain positions at certain times of the day. You could certainly state that this activity bothers your child to see it done and so on. I think you can see where the line is here.

My children can wear their christian t shirts and such to school. I would not want that right to be taken away from them, just so that I could make a young lady uncomfortable by refusing to allow her to wear her head covering.

Humm...well I can see that you have a "huge selection" of answers to choose from. :) As for me..I always try to remember that we are in the "last days"..a time when ppl will ALL be doing their "own thing" (as in the days of Noah) If you REALLY feel (after praying) that would be the recourse you should take..then allow the Holy Spirit to "lead on". I can't see that much would be accomplished as it seems that course of action would lead to "escalation"!? God has been doing an EXCELLENT job of "defending Himself" for 1000's of years without anyone's "help" and I KNOW that He is "allowing" all these things to happen for a reason. Personally..if I was "offended" to that degree..I think I would have my children in a more Christian orientated school environment.
Rather than "fight" the other person's religious beliefs. They WILL see the TRUTH when they stand before the true JUDGE. That is a certain FACT! (and they WILL be accountable!...as will we all!)

God pays his own bills. If they did any attacking it was and attempt on God. But can they make it stick. God can use anything or anyone to get his point across.

Test? Fear win this test...got someone to change it to holiday program. They covered their heads and you bought the ticket....when you made the change.

Do you know that by just the name Christian makes one a prime subject for persecution, even from another religious sect.

Will do not make it worse by asking them to abide by the rules they insisted that you abide by. Satan does roar but he is just a kitten. God is the lion....and his roar is much louder and he draws attention. So this is what you do pray for them 1 Samuel 12:23. Sometimes people irritate and cause and itch. But the word of God soothes that irritating itch ,by a light scratch. Remember it is not about you do not take it personally. It is about God and what he does. after you pray.

Remember brother if you are for real...

That the lord would expect you to respect those who are different from yourself

I was taught all religions point to the same thing...

I was told to think of three blind men touching an elephant.

one touched the tail and though it was a rope.

the second touched the elephant's leg and thought he ws touching the trunk of a tree

Whilst the third touched the trunk and thought it was a snake.

All three men touched the same animal but came away with very different interpretations. Much like religion we are all feeling and reaching for the same thing (GOD), it is just that our interpretations are different.

Also a child pointed out to me that a Hijab (muslim veil) was very much like a Nun's habit. He was 4 years old and failed to see why one caused offence and the other didnt. So have faith and be tolerant.......

This is a good question.

It's good that you're involved with your kid's school -- a lot of parents aren't.

Understand, the couple were critical of a program the school was doing, not attacking your Lord personally. Do they even know your name?

Personally, I feel my God (with power enough to create the sun) doesn't need me to defend against attacks from fools. But Christ does call me to love everyone, including the fools.

What's the spirit behind complaining about their religious garb? Retribution? Or would you prefer all religious garb be prohibited -- from Casting Crown tee-shirts to head covers?

Sometimes it's hard to let things go . . . but this seems like one of those things to let go.

No. The Public school system respects all religions but can not practice any. You can bring a bible. You can say grace before meals. Often the Christians on a sports team will gather and pray before and after games. Show your faith during the ''holiday program''. We still have Easter. God bless.

I don't think you should. There are some Christian sects that require women to wear skirts or dresses and companies have to honor that even if the employer prefers them to wear pants.
Instead of attacking the beliefs and rights of other religions, I think you would get further by actively promoting Christianity at the school. Start a club. Make up tea shirts. You get the idea. You don't have to be militant about it.

I would say no. But pray about it. See what the Lord would have you do. But I feel the Golden Rule would be what I would go by. I don't try to get back at people like that. Just show them the love of Christ. God Bless.
