It was my first time, but it was successful because i didnt hurt the budgie, thank god. I cut just a little bit and he is still able to fly high, so how long would it take for the wings to grow back? Weeks? months? Days?

Till the next time he molts--could take a few months or so. Have an experienced bird vet show you how to trim--only the first 6-8 primaries should be cut, and we recommend both wings. Only snip one feather at a time, and just under the covert feathers. It is not difficult once you've been shown, especially with small birds. Here is a good website to help you:

Hi Animallovinggirlie,I admire your braveness and readiness to do things. We all learn from some body.Did you see some body doing wing clipping? It is really easy,if you are old enough to understand what needs to be done.
The way to do a wing clip is to cut an inch above the wing flesh. When you open the wing, you will see the wing it self, and where the primary and secondary feathers attach the flesh. You can even use a red magic marker to outline where you must cut,and zip, done.
You will need to pay attention, and see when the yearly molt will push these cut feathers out and the new one will emerge, and you may repeat the procedure, before you pet will fly away.
God designed these creatures in a way, that the yearly molt happens during the hottest season of the year,so these animals will not suffer from cold,so it is possible the molt for your bird is happening right now.It is a process that takes several weeks as the feathers replace them selves. So when you see the cut feathers dropped,be on the alert as the new ones will be coming right up!!!
Best wishes to you and keep the faith The Canaryman

depends which feathers you clipped.

you should never have attempted to clip your birds wings yourself if you didn't know what you were doing. it so easilly could have gone wrong if you had clipped a blood feather.

as for the feather re-growth, it depends on whether you clipped the primary feathers or the second. primary feathers re-grow every 6-8 months. secondary feathers can take up to 18 months to regrow. you really should have looked this up properly before attempting to clip your birds wings, and if your bird can still fly that means it wasnt successful as the reason you clip a bird is to stop them flying, so if he can still fly then it wasnt successful in the slightest.

next time please find someone more professional to do it (not a vet)
