Amazing Yes! World record unfortunately not. Have you read the story that goes along with that fish being caught twice and the reason it didn't qualify as a world record? Here it is:

I believe a 29 pound is a unofficial limit. Bass get bigger in the warmer Southern Climates and it's kind of unfair I believe to set this type of limit due to those that can't afford these trips to South America and fish the rivers of the areas.

I do remember seeing a Bass like this advertised in "Sports afield" once, the guy put about five pounds of lead shot into the fish, they started pouring out when the newspapers took the pictures, not to quick.

Yawns like man real old news , but that is still one hell of a monster and you know he knows where that fish hangs out, and will get her for sure next year and not foul hook her with his jig.
And no I did not read Exerts link, I remember reading about it in one of my bass magazines early in the year.
