Im Christian & i still love my Cryptopsy and Aborted and Skinless and Nile
maybe some Black metal is sinful lol since it can be satanic sometimes...but I still love Burzum =D

May I suggest?
Listen to metal 30 minutes a day for one week.
Observe very closely on your temperament, behavior and feelings.
Do the same with classical or gospel music.
Compare your observations. You should be able to answer your own question.

I don't think it's a sin to be a fan of any particular genre of music. I have several Christian friends who are into metal.

It's just music. But rap is better. Don't get me wrong I like some metal just not death metal.
