As an atheist I can discuss a number of subjects, including religion. That's like saying you can't discuss cooking unless you are a chef. I grew up christian, I married a christian, my family is christian and the majority of my friends are christians; I took six classes in comparative religions in college and I find the subject fascinating from a social viewpoint. I think I have sufficient knowledge to discuss the subject and I'm never rude about it as I respect that everyone has the rights to their own beliefs. You want to believe, go ahead I don't want to stop you or change your mind. However, given that yahoo thinks its perfectly valid for me to post here as an atheist I have just as many rights as you. Oh and I don't troll the section, I get all my questions off the homepage and answer what seems interesting to me.

No it is not a good idea. Just because people express their disagreement with each other or post question to see how people respond is not a good reason to create a section for Atheists and Creationists.
I think it is best to leave it alone doing otherwise could be considered going against the First Amendment.

The R&S section is a popular one, and sometimes its difficult to differ between honest answers and posts that are just there to instigate debate and defenciveness. I'm afraid that that is going to be a problem in every catagory at some point or another, some at different frequencies than others. It's really up to you, Yahoo! Inc.. It depends on what Y!Answers to be.

I, personally think that the R&S section is a legitimate part of the Y!Answers experience and doesn't need to be removed.

Not at all. Differences of opinions can be fun and educational when done in a mature manner and without bashing ones religious preference.

Uh, no. Most of us Christians love debating with the atheists, and most of the atheists love debating with the Christians.

Besides, there's lots of love in this section!

Nah, they just counsel each other out and then we get to some really good questions. Don't punish all of us because of some bad in each of those groups. Not all of them are.

Bad idea. The diversity is what makes this forum interesting.

What... and miss all the fun? Besides, I think too many would keep posting in R&S anyway.
