You can take a bath while you have the chickenpox... nothing will happen to them. Many people actually put their children in an oatmeal bath while they have the chickenpox as this is believed to help relieve the itching.

Hope this helps. :-)

Yes, it is good. Take an old, clean sock and put some dry oatmeal in it. Put about a tablespoon of milk in it and put the sock in your water. After that, lightly rub it on your skin or squeeze the sock. This will help to keep the skin moisturized as well as to help relieve the itching from the little pesky chicken pox.

I'm 20 years old and if I still come in contact with chicken pox, I break out with them, but with a smaller case. For some reason, I'm not immune to them and can't get the shingles like everyone else says that you can after you've had chicken pox. I have had shingles before, but it was because of my nerves. There's both a viral and a brought on type. Interesting, huh? lol

They say an oatmeal bath is productive in the healing process and it helps with the itch. That means the answer to your question is NO, and who ever told you such a thing needs slapped up along side of the head...

A cool-ish (well not hot anyway) bath with bicarbonate of soda in it will sothe the itch.

Put on some Calomine lotion after and you will feel a lot better.

Remember not to pick off the scabs, as they can scar up really badly.
