If a guy wants me to make a offer to him, what should it be?

Like, me and one of my guy friends were supposed to hang out today but there was a last minute doctors appiontment. I went to that and was planning to go to his house after that, but my mom wanted to go to lunch, so we did. now, we couldnt hang out because of that and he wants me to make an offer to him to make up for it. I tried to say that we could hang out again, but supposenly that isnt enough.
