Where can I find a tracking device detector? I need an electronic device that will detect for me if someone has hidden a tracking device in any of my things. Where can I find something like this? How does it work? How do the tracking devices work? Do they use UHF? Sattelite or the cell towers?

Thanks for the help.

Any kind of tracking device must have a transmitter of some sort.

If the track-ers are using cell-phone tower triangulation, then the transmitter must be on the cell phone frequencies (~900 MHz, ~2100 MHz, etc.)

If the track-ers are using GPS, then the transmitter can be almost any frequency they choose (to transmit the GPS coordinates transferred from the GPS receiver).

Other systems can use a transmitter and some portable direction-finding equipment. If this is the method, then the transmitter can be almost any frequency.

There are commercial 'bug detectors' available that will cover a broad range of frequencies.
