why are we made of little tiny chemicals (carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen) and not mud? And why couldn't the big bang be real? Chemicals react with each other to create stuff!
This is a serious question, please don't downgrade me because I feel differently then you. I truely wish to know how you feel about the subject.

BrotherMichael : Do you consider a natural disaster to be order or disorder? A wild/forest fire creates new life...not right away but eventually. Why could this not happen with a clash of elements?

David S : Thank you! That's the kind of answer I'm looking for...one that says how you feel. I love deep answers like that! I would appreciate more answers like that from the Religious side, as well.

No, you're absolutely right. Only the hardcore Christians take the Bible literally in that respect, and I find most of their arguments laughable anyway.

In our chemical make we have so little in common with mud that I can't believe people actually thought they were made from mud. That's so not true. Don't feel bad because you believe in what you were taught but one grows from what they are taught to grasp reason and reality. When you were taught fairy tails as a kid, when you grew up I know you realized that they were not true. There were no bears living in a house in the forrest for a little girl to go into and sleep in their beds. And no pigs could build houses of straw or brick much less a wolf coming along to blow down a house to get at the pigs. There are no rabbits bringing you eggs for Easter.
Organized religions make you feel guilty if you don't continue to believe in their fairy tales because it's a way to control you and to get your money and support their political views. Books like the bible should be read between the lines as well.
If god made the universe he made it will the laws of physics and with common sense and coming from dirt or mud and being breathed upon to come alive was ancient folklore. Hang in there and try to open your mind to what's real and what's not real.

Actually, the "mud" part comes in at the very beginning, when nitrogen from lightning was washed into the primordial ocean. When it built up to a certain concentration, it started to form peptides which sank to the bottom of the primordial ocean. There, the slurry of ash and dust from all the volcanic explosions had formed CLAY, which acted as a SCAFFOLDING to HOLD the peptides together long enough so that they could LINK UP and form polypeptides and from there, AMINO ACIDS, which are the precursors of life as we know it. These eventually linked up to form proteins, which eventually started to form CELLS , and from there more complex forms of life evolved! Thus the Biblical story that "God formed man from the dust of the earth," actually has a basis in scientific FACT!!!! Of course the bible-loonies insist on believing that it was all done in "seven days" (as in seven rotations of the earth on its axis) but then, if they had any sense at all, they wouldn't be so gullible about the rest of the Bi-bull, either.

First of all, I don't think we were literally made from dirt, though it's entirely possible. What *I* think is that the passage in Genesis that talks about us being formed from dirt was actually talking about matter. I seriously doubt that Moses would have understood that concept, with or without help from God. That kind of science just wouldn't have been understood then.
I don't see any reason why the "big bang" couldn't be real. I do think it's interesting, though, that in the Bible, it's said that God spoke everything into existence, and all matter is composed of quarks, which is sound.

God formed Adam out of the dust, Eve was made from his rib. All other humans are born through the birth process designed by God.
The big bang has many problems. One is, the big bang is basically a massive cosmic explosion. There are believers of this theory who would tell you that order in the universe came from this explosion. Basically, order coming from disorder. Can you think of one instance when disorder (an explosion) brought about order?

Answer Q#1: Probably it depends on the type of mud available at the time.
Answer Q#2: The big bang might, or mightn't be real. The theory's relatively recent on a geological timescale.

Its not mud, it was dust. Have you ever studied the make up of dust? Have you ever seen what dust is made of? Big bang? Why is it perfectly believe able to you to hear....... long long ago, everything was compacted it to a very very small space. All gases, all dust, ever thing, then at one moment, "BOOM" ever thing expanded and move outwards, and is still moving. You can buy that but when the bible says, In the Beginning, God said let there be, and Boom there is was, that is crazy? why the double standard. And I am being serious.

Johnny Appleseed is right and religion and chemistry totally support one another. It's pretty obvious, but a lot of people choose not to see the obvious and want to pretend there is a big debate between science and religion, like evolution vs. creation. But tell me, why would G-d create a static universe? That would be so boring. And why would G-d have to even be a single entity? That's kind of silly.

only the most twisted christians follow that one. Going to a Catholic school and ironically having religion and science right next to each other was kind of confusing. I think its better not to choose sides, and to let God or Nature take its course.

I think the tiny chemicals are the physical features that were made of, I think the mud part is a metiphor ( excuse my spelling) . But, Im not sure, Im still trying to understand the bible.

It's simple....
What happens to your body, physically, when you die?
It gradually decomposes and eventually turns to dust, take that dust and mix it with a little water and you have mud.
The big bang is a big joke that has been given weight by a questioning human mind, and it was the questioning human mind that got us into trouble with God to begin with....
