people will swear by the chi. I'm sure it is great- but I can't tell the difference between it and my $30 (revlon) straighing iron. (my friend loves her chi and always wants to play with my hair as I have really piecy style)
More important than the iron is the sylist. If you can use it any will do- if you can't, none will do.
Note: do not get conair- dispite the above I can never get conair to heat up right.

Coniar (or however it is spelled) Wet To Straight Ceramic Straightener. I don't recommend that you straighten it wet, because it can still damage your hair. Its red, and i got it at Eckereds, but I'm pretty sure its everywhere.
