I have found Sundays to be the best as I guess people have more time to search I chose the evening for auctions but not too late or they won't stay up to outbid each other.
I now do several buy it now only auctions which seem to be very popular between 10 - 11 pm.

I read Sundays are best end times. People are home relaxing, they'll go online more than on a saturday, more last minute bid potential, I guess, so starting a 5 day auction on a Tuesday early evening is probably best

I would think about 9 PM Eastern time. That is 6 PM Pacific so people might be home from work and the East Coast people still awake.

Lunchtime (powerlunches).

6pm Sundays. People want it, they will have to bid a bit higher for it. More people have that day off, so more people looking at your ad.
