In the Qu'ran Muhammad said he could not do miracles he was simply a messenger of Allah.
Muslims have trouble with this because of the comparisons to Christ. Therfore they claim he split the moon and went on a magical horse ride these contradict the Qu'ran where he says he can not and is simply a messenger of Allah.

Muhammad admitted he could not perform any miracles. But after being asked repeatedly why he couldn't, there were a few stories made about him having water flowing from his hands. Having followers isn't a miracle because miracles are of God. He had followers because he was a cunning, controlling warlord.

I am not sure that muhammed was spiritualy gifted to practice miracles, anyway maybe the moslems should know better.

In the middle of the night when everyone else was asleep he magically traveled to Jerusalem and got back before everyone woke up.
After that, what was the point of anything else? He'd proven his point.
