I am going to make this as short as I can. I was semi-dating this guy for a month, he decided he just wanted to be friends, the next day while napping I had the following dream. In my dream I woke-up in the morning next to a guy (not the guy I was dating) like I lived with him. I went to work but found out that I was fired and that my old boss who I talk to a lot had told my new boss something I said that caused me to get fired (I never found out what it is that I said). I was upset and went back to the house that I was sharing with the mystery guy. The house was weird cause it had very large ,narrow, open rooms with very little furniture and everything was black and gray. The mystery guy tried to comfort me. Then the guy that I was dating enters the house (it appears that he is friends with the mystery guy) and pulls me aside to tell me that he made a mistake and that he wanted to date me. I get parts of it, the guy I was dating wanting me back was what I wanted to happen.

Your mind is playing out your loss. It's a sad 'what if' story of you with the wrong guy. And a bit of wishful thinking...that the old guy would come back and want you back.

This is a normal reaction to events dream. And sounds like a good Lifetime movie too.

To dream that your ex-boyfriend is giving you advice about your current relationship, suggests that you unconscious is telling you not to repeat the same mistakes that you had made with this ex-boyfriend.

To dream that you are being massaged by your ex-boyfriend, suggests that you need to let go of some of that defensiveness that you have been putting forth. You may have been putting up a wall or armor around you. You need to learn to trust people again.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To see a lover in your dream, symbolizes acceptance, self-worth, and acknowledgement of your true inner value. It may also indicate integration of masculine and feminine traits into yourself. You are feeling complete or whole. To dream of an old or former lover, signifies unfinished/unresolved issues related to that specific relationship. Your current relationship may be awakening some of those same issues.

stress dream; completely normal. all the influx of daily life....from work, to perhaps your working relationship with your boss...... to your relationship with this guy, (the one you were dating) with the thought that maybe you should date someone else, or even in hopes that things would work out between you and the guy you were seeing. its a stress dream; its just your subconscious pushing all of your experiences, (throughout the day, and recently) your concerns & worries, and your desires into one setting as means of problem solving. reasoning out so to speak possible solutions/explanations for events in your life which your desires (to get back together with this guy) have overrided.
