less evidence to support that theory than theists have to support theirs?

Until Nebula were photographed, 90% of those asked did not believe there were such things. There is still a small portion of religious fanatics that believe it is a conspiracy to denigrate God and Heaven.

Although the cotton-candy planet is yet to be discovered, experts agree the evidence is strongly in favor of it existing. Unfortunately, they also agree that once it's discovered the person who discovers it will keep the discovery secret. Fear of ridicule from peers will almost certainly cause him to remain silent.

You probably wouldn't have any evidence but you are entitled to believe that the sky is fushia and you nose is falling off too. You are entitled to believe whatever it is you want to believe and it doesn't really matter what other people think about it either. I am christian and it doesn't mean other people have to agree with me but it doesn't change my beliefs either.
