Yeah, I have the same problems... these tips have helped me so far!

1) Use a sharp razor... like Venus, Mach 3, or Quatro.. They are more expensive, but they dont not irritate ths skin like blunt razors.

2) do not shave too closely... leave a slight stubble. This way you wont get razor bumps or ingrown hair which tends to darken the skin.

3) Try not to shave like everyday... and shave like about once in 2 days.

4) Use a good shaving gel designed for sensitive skin.

The hyper-pigmentation is caused due to irritation of the skin. So do not exfoliate it too much.

Armpit hair removal must be performed more frequently than leg shaving, as underarm hair grows faster than leg hair. The armpit area can darken over a period of time and, even with a close shave, an "evening shadow" may be visible. Because hair under the skin can contribute to a dark appearance of the underarm, waxing, by removing the hair from the root, can effectively reduce this darkness.

never had that proble though

Not sure what type of blades you're using, but the only blade that seems to do the trick for me is the Venus brand. They are truly a great blade. If you want try using a men's razor with four blades. I think some co's are coming out with five blades.
Oh, and I use a moisturizing deodarant like Dove clear brand and I also exfoliate.
If all else fails, I would spend the moola and get electrolisis done.

This is a problem for a great deal of dark haired woman. What I've found that works well is to exfoliate my underarms to sloth the dead skin (yuck) and use a new razor. I have the same problems with my bikini area and do the same.

u will have a shadow. i have found the shadow doesnt fade w/ the frequency of shaving. if u want that fresh smooth look u see on the stars...get laser hair removal. it removes the hair from the root and evens the skin tone.

Waxing normally does away with this shadow.

Yes, that's why I wax instead I find it makes a difference.

I'm more worried by the fact that you are so desperate about it. How many people are actually going to look that close to even notice a little shadow? No one who matters in your life is going to care, honestly.

Fortunatley i do not have this problem as i am a natural blonde, but perhaps there is a makeup or somthing you can use to cover it up. Or maybe its just one of those things that happens when you have dark hair. You shouldnt be embarrased about it, its perfectly natural.
