rally behind me so that I can have amnesty for the stupid things I did as a kid?
I've worked hard all these years also and haven't broken any laws but it would sure be nice to have that monkey off my back.
Shouldn't I as an American citizen have the same right to amnesty as any illegal immigrant?

Don't assume I did anything extremely bad.
I didn't steal
I didn't hurt anyone
I got caught at the bus stop with a bunch of kids smoking a little weed is all. In the seventies all the kids did it. Doesn't make it right but is not the worst crime in the world either.
I think after thirty years of ZERO criminal activity that I should be entitled to as much as they get.

Illegals get away with too much. They are treated with "kid gloves." If Americans did what the illegals do, our butts would be in prison for a long time.
Imagine a citizen getting only 16 months for driving without a license, 3 time the legal blood alcohol level and it is their their 9th DUI! Not a chance. However, that happened to an illegal alien in Orange County CA - he had also been deported 3 times!

He hasn't yet but they will. It's sad, the illegals get better treatment then those trying to come here legaly. I hear about stories of people waiting years just to get a visa for their spouse or fiancee.
Our system is so screwed up. Those trying to come here legaly can't even come here and those comming here illegaly are getting pats on the back and hand outs.

Umm, no, the illegal immigrants come here to fulfill a need for them to supply for themselves and families to survive. It's Darwinism. We can either let them in and take advantage of the cheap labor they are offering, or be harsh and greedy and turn them away. Why did you do what you did that you won't mention when you were a kid?
