why do you say "sweet sixteen" and not "sixteen"?? please answer my question

they call it sweet sixteen because it's a realization that a young lady will blossom into a beautiful lady. And it usually starts when one turns 16 years old.. Enjoy being beautiful & young!!

Sweet sixteen parties began as coming-of-age ceremony for young Jewish women. Christian girls began to adopt the practice as coming-out into society.

The tern "sweet" has to do with the presumed innocence of girls at 16. Pure and "un-kissed" there fore still "sweet and innocent". Plus the alliteration of the words Sweet and Sixteen made it popular to say.

It's to do with being "sweet, sixteen and never been kissed."

Probably because sixteen is the age at which most boys and girls are at their 'sweetest' - between childhood and adulthood - I don't know of any deeper explanation.
