Anal sex, in fact, is more risky than other forms of sex. Physical damage to the rectum and anus can manifest as generalized ano-rectal trauma, hemorrhoids, anal fissures and rectal prolapse. Damage is more likely if intercourse is forcible or aggressive.

Kaylen is right, above. Also, theoretically, it CAN cause cancer, if the above mentioned irritation continues long enough, and frequently enough, and is severe enough.
