Yes, he wants a championship, he would never get that at DEI, Teresa is probably glad he left.. I'm not the biggest HMS fan but if Dale Jr can win races and win the championship...I just hope he can do it in the number 8..

Hi,
I think Dale Jr. made the right decision. He is not the one to go to a bad team where he won't get the attention and where he won't win races and championships. Hendrick Motorsports has won almost half the races this year and usually most of his cars make the Chase. Jr. went to a team where he would be appreciated and given a great opportunity to do well. And also he knows Rick Hendrick personally too. So that will make for a good combination for those two. I don't think Jeff, Jimmie, or Casey will get the best from the team though. I think it will ALL go to Jr. I look for Casey Mears to leave Hendrick Motorsports in the next year or two!

I think Jr could have had some ownership in DEi if he hadn't insisted on having more than 50% of the company. I don't blame Teresa, I'd have told him "c ya". If his last name wasn't Earnhardt, he'd be another Jamie McMurray or Scott Riggs.

Jr. is a good driver but I don't expect great things from him at Hendricks. I hope I'm wrong about that.

At the time absolutely. If you ask me he knew that DEI was falling behind the other teams and he needed to get control so that he could pull in the right people to DEI and get caught back up.
Proof is look how the other teams caught and past them at Daytona and at Talladega. Those tracks were ruled by DEI.
Now I think DEI realize what Jr's seen and it took him leaving to get a reaction.
I was a very strong Sr. fan and I often wonder what he would thinking about all this. I think he would be pretty upset with Teresa. He left her with plenty of money for a good life and I just think he would have preferred to have Jr. with more say.
That is just my opinion.
Dale Jr. did what he had to do and he obviously made a good choice of teams to join.

No. I was a Jr fan and stopped following him because of his decision. I've been following Truex Jr since he won his first Busch race and it was natural for me to switch to him when Jr made his decision.

I still think Jr is a good driver and I hope he does well... I just hope he finishes behind the other DEI guys.... still ahead of the Ford, Dodge, and Toyota guys though.

He wants a championship but I don't think he will get it at Hendrick. He will be the #3 man there just like Kyle was.

Yes, I think it will make Teresa realize that DEI won't be as strong without Jr. around.
That and I feel he'll get amazing equipment with Hendrick and truthfully with Jimmie, Jeff and Jr. there they will become a complete powerhouse. I just hope Casey doesn't get left in the dark, I hope that the 3 guys will help him out.

Only time will tell. It looks like DEI just might become a powerhouse with the aquisition of Ginn and the engine program with RCR. I kinda wish he would've stayed put at DEI, but I believe he's looking for instant results. Hendrick Motorsports is probably the best place for that.

I think it is a great decision..... He probably can still own a Busch team.... get Hendrick Motors and support ...and be competative in a Chevy like he wants to be..... Gibbs is going to Toyota so the choice was simple.....

Personally I don't like it, but if he thinks its best for him, its a risk worth taking. After all he's looking out for himself and Hendrick is capable of getting him to where he needs to go.

It takes brass to leave a confortable position like he had at DEI. Not many drivers would be inclined to move on to greener pastures...by choice.
