I met Jimmy Swaggart at a restaurant in Baton Rouge a few years after his final fall - he looked broken.

He does have a charisma about himself - I think all the TV preachers do - it's how they draw so many people in. Doesn't make them any more sincere or less sincere for that matter - than a preacher in a small never before heard of church. I've never been into TV church, but to each his own.

Yes..Ernest Angely on a few occassions..Many,make sport of his accent and hair piece...but he his the real deal...A genuine man of God that is not playing games or seeking fame and fortune...and the Miracles are not staged...I actually came to the Lord..after seeing God's love though the healing ministry of Pastor Angley...He fasts quite often,as long as 40 days at a time, begging God to use him in reaching out to the lost.

I also met Brother R.W. Shambach..another powerful man of God...that is a dynamite preacher, who shares and demonstrates a ministry of Power and Faith.

I was prayed for by Donnie Swaggart...Son of Jimmy Swaggart...He like his father is a man of God...(Any one can fall)...we as believers need to forgive and pray for restoration of any brother or sister who errs and goes astray.... Jimmy Swaggart is my brother in the Lord.

I knew personally a world reknown Evangelist,by the name of Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who authored many books, including that of "Tortured for Christ"...his own story of the 14 years of torture that he endured under both Nazi and Communist occupations of Romania. I spent many hours with him and have never met anyone who was more intimate with the Lord Jesus.

Good question Sister...(((Melicious)))

The pastor at the church I attended/sang in the choir from age 8-15 moved on to NYC and the biggest Presbyterian church in NYC, and was on TV a lot, I am told. But no, have never met a televangelist. Check out youtube for "would Jesus wear a Rolex?" by Ray Stevens...

I see Jimmy Swaggart's name in your answers a lot. If you ever get the opportunity, watch Jimmy give a sermon with the volume turned off. Then tell me what you think about him. You know where I live, contact mine...all the best, Brian

Have met Kenneth Copeland and wife Gloria, they looked wonderful and there was such 'spark' about them. Have also met John Hagee and his wife and son, Matthew while Matt was a teenager and they were very pleasant and approachable, I met Benny Hinn and he was very nice and friendly, also met Kenneth E. "Dad" Hagin before he went to be with Jesus and he was full of "fun" and vigor and had piercing eyes; make you want to give him a hug. I used to be in Jentezen Franklin's church and he is a very shy and unassuming person outside the pulpit. His wife is even more shy. I get/got the impression that they each love the Lord and are doing the best job they know to do and none started out to BE a televangelist. I am so sorry about Jimmy Swaggart and his "flesh" issues. I am feeling like he probably hates it more than anyone. I had lunch with Matt and Lorri Crouch several years ago and they are 100%. Have shaken hands with Jerry Sevelle, Jesse Duplantis, Lester Sumerall and had dinner with Perry Stone after a big Camp Meeting
O yes, I forgot, many years ago and you know it had to be MANY, I went to an Oral Roberts' tent meeting and just saw him from the audience. His life is a miracle.

We are only a human as everyone else. Just trying to be fishers of men in a society and business that is always pulling and pressing.

We put our pants on the same way, feed ourselves, shower, mow the grass.

Many who use the Gospel and their charisma for their personal gain hurt people all over the globe by their greed.

I do not envy there moment at the great judgment seat.

Please don't judge all by the actions of a few.

Not into the whole T.V. thing either.

I havent met a Televangelist but I have met tent preachers, sincere and what I thought were fake.

I think most Televangelist are money oriented and no different than celebrities with an aura of charisma that allows them to do what they do without a True Ordination.

Though as one once told me, God may work through them too without them realizing it.

I met Jerry Clower in South Carolina by sheer accident, at a restaurant, when I was eating with a sales group. A VERY sincere person.

I can understand why JS would be broken after his fall! That would do it to ANYBODY!

I have met Oral Roberts, Jerry Savelle (Funny), Ben Kinchlow of the 700 Club, Lester Sumeral, John Jacobs and the power team, Perry Stone, and Marlin Hickey. It was truely a blessing to met those who have such a great anointing and to share in their anointing as kings of Christ is even better..

I don't know if he was considered a televangelist. Baptists would have known him, but yeah I saw him all the time. I felt sort of bad for him. He would order liquor but beg to put it in a normal coke glass. It wasn't a lot. The man wasn't an alcoholic. He just wanted ONE drink. But his balls would have been busted right out of the church. I just wanted to ask him if it was worth it...

I went to his sons wedding about 2 years ago. It is one weird enviroment. He has all these brown nosers that follow him around. He's actually kind of charismatic.
I knew the bride i don't hang out w/ any of the swaggarts.

I think it was actually his grandson now that i think about it.
