You know, there are a number of very brillant Christians. Issac Newton being one of them. Christians are smart people, so I think they are blinded by faith - almost to the point of stupidity.

The two are not mutually exclusive...

In a way it almost is blinded by faith but definitely not stupidity. We are blinded to the ways of this world, once we have come to understand God's ways which are a paradox. Once we see the truth and understand how it is that God thinks and works it is easy to turn from this world, because it is a lie. Being a Christian requires a different way of thinking than what we were taught growing up.

Faith and intelligence are not factors in why a christian stays a christian. They stay christians because they want to, sometimes out of fear of hell, sometimes out of dislike of boredom (churches have a lot of social events) and other various reasons.

Note that I am not talking about the few who have found a spiritual connection here, although I believe they misinterpret and externalise something which is very human. They HAVE found something in which they can have faith. The ones I am talking about are the fake christians.

You know the saying opinions are like arm pits we all have them, and most stink.

Christians are just like everyone else that suffer from day to day with death of loved ones, paying bills, going to the school over a sick or ornery child.
We are NOT superior nor perfect, we are just saved by grace.

Oh yeah, and if I'm blinded by my faith, the clarity is awesome.

You know, if there was an atheist section (and there may be) of YA, I would not waste your time with my insults in that format. Are you guys just so filled with hate that you have an insatiable appetite for offending? As a Christian, I do not well abide a fool and your rhetorical question indicates that you are precisely that.

I'm Christian and hold 3 college degrees with an IQ high enough to get me into Mensa. While I am blessed to have my faith, I do not judge or condone others for their beliefs or their lack of faith. Perhaps you might learn a lesson here?!?!

Do you really think Christians are as blind- almost to the point of stupidity as you are for this lack of insight? I think anyone who is willing to condemn others for their belief is probably slow in the head, so, I will wish you well...
May God be with you.

Not blinded...perhaps a better word would be "enlightened". Just because you don't understand, doesn't make it stupidity. Intelligence and faith are quite compatible.

Its more a matter of organized religion. If you look at Mysticism in every religion that had generally more liberal, realistic views of life combined with a true faith in Unconditional Love.

Though you may call that ignorant.

If someone calling themselves 'Christian' is blinded by faith, then they are in deep trouble and NOT the type of follower Jesus was looking for.

Well actually, it doesn't say much about your IQ being on this particular site just to bash christian intelligence. I think you may want to look in the mirror to see "point of stupidity".
