ok so i have astigmatism in my right eye.itsn not bad,but my doctor says i shouldnt try to wear nomral contact lenses. i always thought that 1800contacts was alot or atleast cheaper than your eye doctor. at my eye docor its $270 for both eyes. including my right eye (acuvue advanced for astigmatism). but i just checked 1800contacts. thats how much it cost ONLY for the toric contacts. is that normal?this is all for a year. so why is it that my eye doctor is half as cheap?

ps. this is the first year that i have contacts. i just got some contacts from my eye doctor a week ago.i didnt have to pay for them.

please help! i really dont want my mom to pay to much!.
thx

They advertise that they are cheaper because the base price might be but they probably up-charge their shipping costs and there might be a hidden convenience charge if you are ordering them over the phone and if you go on-line the cost might be even more for convenience. Best way to go is to compare prices of that brand at local drug, grocery, or large department stores which may be carriers or do a search on-line and see if you can't find anything that is cheaper than buying it directly from the eye doctor.

Well, you have done the cost comparison and discovered that 1800contacts is not cheaper. Sometimes advertising does not tell the truth!
