I don't know which one to choose. I am choosing the 200 channel plans. I like Dish because it offers more HD channels at the same price and is cheaper than the others. Their DVR look pretty good 2 but i dont really know. I read here on answers that however they have bad customer service compared to DirecTv which is better but cost somewhat more but lack the number of HD channel Dish has and costs more although they have TiVo the lack of HD channels is more disturbing to me and the fact that is cost more for less. Then again I am kinda against getting any satlitte carriers because i just moved to the Seattle area where it is cloudy 2/3 of the year and dizzles alot and i don't know wheather that will impact the channels I receive enough wheather it needs to be a downpour or not. THen there is comcast. Cable which cost a good deal more than satelitte. From the info i got i think they have like 7 HD channels compared to 20 with Dish Their DVR sucks but if you can get Tivo then i don't care.

But the less HD channel for alot more on Commcast is disturbing. Verizon FiOS seem like it has a reasonable price and its HD DVR looks pretty and they say that they have HD channels , but i dont know how many which is kinda making nervous about choosing them. They are fiber optic cable so the wheather i hope won't affect them at all just like it wont commcast, but I don't know anyone who has it so i don't know the service. Even though the price seems reasonable. So I need help to choose. If dizzle rain and clouds wont affect sattlittle then i will take it, but if dish does have bad customer sevice then no. If Commast has more HD channel than 7 then ok and if Verizon had 20 Hd channel too then it's ok, but for now i dont know

Hi Sebastian

It seems as though you have already done quite a bit of research into comparisons between Dish, Directv and the cable providers. I would have to agree with you that Dish is better value than Directv and that it is cheaper and better than cable. The drizzly weather in "Sunny Seattle" should not affect the reception. Just make sure that you have a clear view to the south. http://www.sattvinfo.com has comparisons between Dish Network, Directv and the cable companies.
Good Luck. :)

We ditched Comcast after they told it us it would take them 2 weeks to fix a problem on their line that was causing a total outage.

We went with Dish - their DVR Advantage package is awesome - JUST BE SURE TO CALL THEM. We ordered by phone, and our bill got all screwed up. Fortunately their customer support was pretty friendly and immediately recognized the problem.

We don't have Verizon FIOS out here yet, so can't compare.

I would also go with FiOS. It has the best internet speeds regardless of Comcast's claims of 'fastest in home wifi', which doesnt mean anything to me. FiOS also has over 100 hd channels on my service in the Baltimore area. Dunno what your package might offer or what hd channels the other companies have to offer. FiOS is definitely the better choice.

I think you should go for Dish

-Cheaper
-Provides more HD channels
-Excellent Picture Quality

Having Satellite in Seattle shouldn't be a problem. I have Dish and I live in San Francisco, where it's cloudly more than half of the year.
