my chihuahua+ litter box= dont mix!!?

Question

my chihuahua has been doing good(i guess) but only because i picked him up and plopped him in there when he was about to go. I need a way for him to go in the litter box automatically!! he does it outside, but know that winter is coming he won't like cold!
p.s. i need lots of options in your people's answers. im rating best answer!! (duh)

since it's a tiny dog.like the pomeranian[my dog] get him a lil doggy/puppy coat that you'll think will be warm enough and maybe some lil boots or warm COZY shoes for his feet so they won't freeze up.And i suggest that u go out with him so that about 30 seconds after he/she has done his/her buissness OUTSIDE then take him in as soon as he is done.And then as long as ur house is nice and warm inside then he should be fine! hope i helped! bye :D

the chihuahua may not like the cold but can go out just long enough to be good.
you might want to try to use puppy pads.
he alos may be doing this to get attention it's his way to get help. just kind of gently drag him into the litter box.
I knoew someone who couldn't train their dog because it was picked up and taken out and not until they would put a leash on and show him how to get to where needed he wouldn't be trained after this advice was given and 9 months of trying the dog only took 2 weeks and eversince than doing great now 8 years old and never an accident

litter box training a dog would be hard. When he poops on the floor pick in up and put it in the box. That's how kitens are trained.
Also when he does it in the box reward him.

Get him little boots and a coat for winter- he can still go outside then.
