As a side note: the guy he gave best answer to is not LDS, he is talking with the missionaries, big difference. I'm just trying to understand how people go about passing along and receiving information on Yahoo! because there is a lot of misinformation out there, and if you're getting a religious education from Youtube, you're being misled. And that goes for all religions, not just the LDS.

You want a "professional" answer (see source)...

The wording of the first sentence comes across as sarcastic. "Since when did YouTube become the authority on religion"...as the first sentence, this set the tone for your entire message. The rest is relatively neutral though it does come across as "short" (as in short-tempered) given the tone set by the first sentence.

It wouldn't offend me, but I know other people (including at least a dozen of my colleagues) that would consider the entire note "rude" (or at least "mildly offensive") because of the sarcastic opening.

Let me guess...you received a violation. You don't have to be rude or do anything wrong, for that matter, in order to receive one. You merely answered his question. And quite well, I might add. Otherwise you wouldn't have been violated. Take it as a complement.

EDIT: First, I have to admit that I am probably always condescending so it's not like I'm never at fault. It's not even strong condescension anyway. Personally i didn't it find it rude at all but maybe he did because you told him he was getting his information from the wrong sources. Some people really hate to be told that they have the wrong information.

I do not think you were rude... but...fyi... I was recruted heavely many years ago by mormons directly form Salt Lake Headquarters... and they were all very clear in stating that it is the mandate of all mormons to dominate the world with mormonisim... I came very close to joining up... I did the study and pay'n bit...read every thing they gave me to read... and then I started to look into it on my own... I was not a Christian at that time... and btw, every mormon I talked to at that time...and some were very high in the orginization...high up in Salt Lake... were very clear in telling me that Christians were the enemy and the Christian Bible was false and I should never read it.... but when I started to look into actual history I came to see how phony mormon teaching is... and even though I was very much opposed to the Christians as well, I could clearly see the Christians had a lot more to offer than the mormons did... 30 yrs latter I finaly came to know The Truth of God and I am now of The True Christian Faith.... and now mormons are actualy claiming to be christian(which they aint) and they even pass out The King James Bible... which all of their leaders for 150 yrs said was evil...

while you are not rude... you are very decieved by the teaching of that cult.
