It is possible to have only one puppy, though it is not that common, especially in the larger breeds.

Are you sure that she's given birth to all of the puppies? If any are left in her, she could get a severe infection and possible die.

Another possibility is that if all the pups died after birth, she may have eaten their bodies. It does sound gross, but a mother dog will consume the bodies of dead pups.

Your best bet would be to take her to the vet for a checkup and then get her spayed because it doesn't sound like your family needs to have a breeding dog.

If it was her first litter, maybe it is possible. My dog had 6 for her first litter though and she is part pit.

If there were more, she probably would have had them over the course of a few hours. But some pit bulls have difficulty birthing because of the size of the puppies' heads.

I would take her to a vet regardless. Have him check her out.

I would suggest you take the dog to the vet. If the pup was stillborn, it could mean other problems for the dog. Especially if you suspect there should be other pups. A vet can properly determine if there is any other issues present.

It happens, but it's a good idea to have the vet check her out to make sure there are no retained dead puppies.

She needs to go to the vet ASAP. What are you doing breeding when you have no idea what your doing? When you take her to the vet make an appointment to get her spayed. The world doesn't need another litter of puppies from backyard breeders like yourself. There are to many dogs and not enough homes especially for pit bulls. They are being killed in shelters because of people like you adding to the overpopulation of dogs.

Well its not all that unusual for a dog to have a pup or two, but I would take her to the vet RIGHT AWAY. Because if there is more dogs in there, then they will die, if not dead by now from suffocation.

It's possible, but you should take your dog to a vet to have her checked out. If there are still puppies in there, she could get an infection and die. Please have your dog spayed.

it is going to circulate away in case you artwork with him as he grows up. he's probable taking part in. additionally, if this replaced into your muddle, why did you provide all the doggies away? they could be a techniques too youthful at 5 weeks to take transport of to residences. human beings such as you may no longer have canines while you're actually not responsive to this actuality. do no longer take the canines with the aid of fact it incredibly is from a outdoors breeder who would not have ANY thought on what they're doing, if the mummy isn't yours.

no it is not normal, though my black lab had just one during her first pregnancy. I would tell you to take her to the vet, because it is possible that there was a birth complication and she could actually still have stillborn pups left inside her! *eeww*
