I'm taking a short two-day trip to Toronto in October. What should I do and see in the city, besides the usual tourist attractions such as the CN Tower, Eaton Centre, Toronto Zoo, etc? I'd like to utilize the subway system as much as possible, so naming the subway station with the destination would be much appreciated!

Cassa loma, CNE, Ontario Place, Centre Island, Science Centre, Canada's Wonderland, maybe take in a show in the theater district or go down to Queens Quay and do the dinner cruise on the lake. Dont forget a blue jays or raptors game

Well.....to really see the interesting people of Toronto, you've gotta go to Kensington Market. You have interesting little grocers and cheese shops. Then there's the galleries, shops selling unusual items, restaurants and bars. It really is an area of the city where the alternative scene is.

Get off at College subway station. You can take the College streetcar west & get off at Spadina Avenue or the next stop. You could also walk...it'll take you about 15 - 20 minutes from College subway.

Once you've finished there, head back east to Spadina Avenue and go south. This is the main China Town in Toronto. You're going to experiance the hustle & bustle of a vibrant Chinese market. Walk down to Queen Street and then head east on Queen. It's not as alternative (it's become a little more main stream lately) but there are still plenty of sights to enjoy.

I hope you enjoy your trip to Toronto!

I'd recommend getting off the subway at St. Clair West for Casa Loma, otherwise you're faced with climbing a hill or a huge number of steps. If going Down steps is not a problem, you can return via the Dupont station.

You might want to check this out for restaurants, etc:

Casa Loma is a huge hill. Get a bike.

Subway service is being cancelled by the mayor and the TTC because they won't lay off managers, so rates go up and service is cancelled. The city wants to sell TTC off to the Province, but the mayor gets too much, pay, from the TTC is you know what I mean, so some services may not be available.

If you try to get to the zoo by public transit, you will waste half the day.

You can go to Dupont station and walk to Casa Loma

Downtown is a great place to look around. If you are from a little town like me, it really is mezmorizing. The malls there are huge, and it's fun to just walk around or shop.
