That's the entire idea of god.
Your supposed to be in fear- fear for your eternal soul. That's how religious people control other religious people.
I do not believe in god, so I don't fear what isn't real.

No... I do the best I can. if i sin which I do alot I ask for forgiveness and go on with my life. If we are truly gods children then he wouldn't want us to live in fear of him..I know as a parent I would never want my children to live in fear of me.

One of the definitions for fear is respect. So yes I fear God, he is far more powerful than me.

No. My God is awesome and to be in his presence is overwhelming. I do fear his power after all he is the Creator of all. But no I don't live in fear of him.

No. Actually, I live in fear of offending God. Actually, that's a bit strong. I don't LIVE in fear that I might offend Him, I'm just saddened if/when I do.
After all, He DID come to this planet as a mere mortal and as a human, died for my sins.
Like one person put it, "If Christ be God and died for my sins, there is no sacrifice too great for me to make for Him"
Again, "It is no fool who will give up that which he can not keep, in order to gain that which he can not lose."
