I'm taking my road test in about two hours. I've been practicing parallel parking like crazy..but I'm not that consistent. Sometimes I'll do it really well and other times I'm totally off. It's not a lack of practice..I just can't get it every time. I can't cancel my test now without paying extra. I was just wondering if you can still pass a road test [[in New York State particularly]] if you do everything else well and are just a little too far away from the curb or something. Does anyone have any experience with this? Please help-and fast!!! Thanks.

You obviously had done all the necessary maneuvers that the examiner requested of you. with little or no weaknesses.
You passed. The parking of the vehicle won't fail you.
If you had other faults then you would have failed.

Often times, it depends on the state and the testing facility. When I took mine (in Michigan) it was mandatory that you knew how to parallel park. Granted, I've never parallel parked in my life since that time, but I passed.

Since times have changed, so has the test here. Now, you don't have to parallel park (it's still on the test) but one of the biggest parts of the test is driving through a roundabout and correctly signaling. (which is one thing I'm not sure how to do)

Often times, the instructor will give you credit on your test if you don't do well on your parallel parking, but awesome on everything else.

Not sure about NY. When Ohio had the parallel parking test (now changed to a maneuverability test) you had to pass both the driving and parking to get your license. just be calm and do your best. Good luck.
