Disagree. It's a fact that bad things happen to good people, and it's also a fact that good things happen to bad people. It all works out in the end, maybe, but we don't all get what we deserve when we deserve it.

Mostly disagree.

There is something to be said for Karma in the way that the energies you put out will come back to you. For example if I start yelling at the store clerk that I can't find the item I want because the store is such a mess he or she isn't going to want to help me find what I need.

But I do not believe that birth defects, diseases, and the like are caused by past sins or bad behaviors.

Disagree. Life is just as hard on everyone. I know plenty of good people who got a raw deal in life and died terrible deaths. No one deserves that. The biggest jerks I know seem to go on forever with no repercussions for their behavior. Life is rarely fair.

I don't agree with that.
I see some who don't deserve the pain they go through.
Like Christopher Reeves wife (for example).
And I see some who do deserve more than they have.
They treat people so badly. They walk all over them and it seems nothing bad ever happens to them.
Makes you feel bad for those who unjustly experience the pain be it by a higher being or by the hands of another human.

Absolutely Disagree....One can be to most honest, faithful, and enterprising person, and if successful will attribute it to that, but same person can have death and destruction (so to speak) rain down on their parade and wonder WHY. Easy...life is a gamble...Bad people Win at times, Good People lose it all at times...there is NO rhyme or reason to explain it, other than the ' Roll of the Dice ' and random events.

Disagree. Often horrible things happen to very good people. Often very bad people get away with very horrible things. The book of Ecclesiastes notes this fact. The Bible says that God is holding back his wrath and justice for a time, but that, in the end, there will be absolute justice. People may get away with things for now, but not forever.

I believe in cause and effect, or karma. Every choice that we make in life has a consequence, even the smallest choices as what to eat, what to wear, to the medium choices of do I cut that person off in traffic, or flip some one off, to the bigger choices, so do people get what they deserve? well, people live with the consequences of their actions. If you steal, you go to jail, if you are a bad employee, you get fired, if you don't pay your rent, you get kicked out etc. But on the flip side, accidents happen, children die, people starve, and there is no reason for it.

No way! If that were true most of our problems would disappear. Bad people couldn't exist any more. Honesty would be our new foundation. But, life isn't like that. Good and bad are issued to everyone without discrimination.
lol You know, you may have solved everything. Wow.

Absolutely not.

You telling me the starving babies in central Africa are getting what they deserve? Innocent kids born with hideous, debilitating birth defects are getting what they deserve? Some old Jewish lady who lived a good and fruitfull life who got thrown into one of Hitler's ovens was getting what she deserved?

The whole concept of "deserve" is ridiculous. Nobody gets what they deserve, either good or bad.

The only people who go around saying so are white conservative upper middle class spoiled folks who got everything they ever wanted under the Christmas tree since they were born.

Gosh -- do I sound a bit strident?

Good.
