He probably already came back and then took off because his followers scared him.

Here.
Many innitial prophecies of the Christian Old Testament and the Jewish Torah were written 6,000 years prior to their fulfillments. It's only been 2000 years since Christ's promise to return. AND if you read the Later Jewish scrolls and Isaiah of the Christian Old Testament you'll find we are NO WHERE near as bad as the "End Times" are supposed to be... things are good compared to the prophecies yet to be fulfilled.
As a Christian, I've learned to to look for Jesus to come, but instead live each day as though it were my last. Seriously, no matter what you believe, shouldn't you do your best to improve what you can in the world and in your friend's lives? Any day your life could end.... look the bridge in Minnesota. They had NO idea that drive would be their last... what could they have done to change their world???
If Jesus comes back today, or in 9008.... makes no difference to me... I'll see Him when I die anyway.
So, even if you don't believe any of this, I would encourage you to read a little bit about it before asking a question, or even now that you have. Belief or not doesn't mean you can't learn about it. I don't believe in Buddism, but I'm interested in the way they calm their minds and bring everything into focus. It's cool.

Time is a man made invention. It has no importance or meaning to God or Jesus. It should be noted many believers don't think there will be a physical coming of Jesus, but rather a spiritual conscientious will prevail on earth.

The Christians are waiting for the second coming and the Jews are waiting for the first. Not sure what the Muslims are waiting for.
I'm just waiting for Britney's next comeback.

Well, let's see, according to the atheists we waited millions of years for an ape to become a human, so what's 2000 years in the scheme of things?

As many as it takes, doggy, 's many as it takes.
People who say we're living in the end times don't know what they're talking about. Alarmists have been saying that since 1000 AD and prollly before that too.
So: as many as it takes.

Just because of what you said, that proves to me that we are in the latter days. I believe that statute of limitations is up in my lifetime and yours.

But if we believe in God, and we believe he is omnipitent, then how does a few thousand years matter? If God is all-powerful and never dies, then why would they give up on him? It's all a matter of relativity.

I don't think anyone is sitting around waiting.
We are all living our lives: going to work, being busy with the kids, cleaning our houses, going to the grocery store, buying school clothes, etc.
Who has time to sit around?

Waiting for the second coming of Jesus is not like waiting for a table at Olive Garden, you idiot.
Man, where do you people come from?
