For the same reason they don't get married or do algebra or drive a car or build satellites. They don't have the mental or physical capacity to do such a task.

I don't think they do but they can be trained to pray with someone. I have seen cute pictures of a little boy kneeling beside his bed praying and his golden retriever doing the same with his paws on the bed and his head tucked in between his paws.

Who says they don't?
Just because we don't see them praying, doesn' t mean it doesn't happen.
and why humanize an animal in this manner to begin with?

I don't know if they do or not, there is no way we would ever know. I work for a rescue and somehow I think they have to to get out of the horrible situations they are in and find their way to rescue.

Because they are dogs, not people. They don't have conscious thoughts. I don't understand why people have to humanize dogs.
