They make fruit as a method of dispersing their seeds. They make the fruit tasty or sweet so that the animals will eat the fruit and spread the seeds.
Now you are thinking but if the animal eats the fruit with the seeds and all how could the seeds grow, well most of the seeds in fruit have a strong indigestible shell on the outside and it will pass through the animals digestive tract unharmed.
Think about it now it has been spread out far away from its mother tree and in addition it is dropped on the ground surrounded by fertilizer. Its a very good system. If you don't believe me eat an entire apple or raspberries (something with a lot of seeds) and take a look in the toilet next time nature calls and you will see.
Fruits are the means by which flowering plants disseminate seeds.[1]

Fruit are the way that trees reproduce and spread their fertilised seeds. An apple, for instance, starts with a blossom being fertilised by pollen on the hindlegs of bees.
Inside the apple, seeds form. Animals eat the apples that fall ripe from the tree, as well as birds. In their excretion on other places, the seeds are also expelled and sometimes they manage to grow again if the ground they land on is fertile enough.
I hope this answers your question. Plants have many special ways of spreading their seeds.... and fruit, eaten by animals and birds, is just another wonderful example of survival and reproduction of mother nature.

The tree makes the fruit as a means to protect its seeds. If you'll notice, all fruits have seeds inside them. If left alone the fruit will fall from the tree and protect the seed until it begins to grow. The fruit can protect it from winter or just be there to provide nutrients to the seed to help start the germination process.

When a tree or any plant makes fruit it is actually renewing itself.
The fruit turns into seed and the seed is often spread by birds of animals as they excreet it into soil. This will produce another plant or tree.

Did you expect that we could fart an apple and eat it? If it didn't come from a plant, tree or an animal, where do you think we would get fruit or other nutrition from?

Haven't you noticed fruit contains seeds? The fleshy part is there to attract animals and birds, which spread seeds via their feces.
