Got a NYC parking ticket on July 30 with a rentalcar from Quebec, as a German citizen. What will happen?

I would like to pay - but foreign credit cards are not accepted. Not on the NYC Finance Website, nor on their various automated or individual phone lines. Money orders are not available in Germany. What will happen if I never paid?

The rental car company will end up paying and will charge you for whatever ticket you got, plus the late surcharges, plus their own administration fee. They already have your account information you gave them when you rented the car, and you also sige the agreement stating that they can charge you if stuff like this happens. ( its in that fine print that nooone ever reads)

If you don't intend to come back to the USA, nothing will happen really. Did you try contacting the rental company? They might be able to help you. If you used a credit card here in the US while you were in NYC, that should probably work. I actually called the NYC information line and was told that and credit card that had some kind of affiliation with the mentioned cards would work.

when you return the car back to Quebec you can pay the ticket at the rental company. They will then make the payment to the NYC parking authority.
If you don't pay it, the rental car company will eventually charge your credit card the amount of the ticket and maybe a surcharge.

Nothing, I'm sure the government won't chase you down in a foreign country because you refused to pay a parking ticket.

they will put a boot on your car if they catch you in a no parking zone in NY again, if your not coming back keep it as a souvenir:)
