Why is sex so personal?

IF sticking yourself into a person, or having some one stick themselves into doesn't seem personal enough. Realize that with human beings, ALMOST EVERYTHING WE DO IS PERSONAL!!! A person cuts us off, personal, A person makes fun of us, personal. A person insults our beliefts, personal. A person steals from us, personal. etc. etc. So why wouldn't something so intimate be personal? I mean we can pretend it isn't, were human, we can act like it doesn't mean a thing, now wouldn't that be hard to take... personally?
