Yep. The best and longest relationships I've ever had were not based on looks.
However in HS - you're not going to find a lot of depth anywhere you look. At that age pretty much everyone is paper thin shallow.

Hun, looks are not everything! Not when it comes to REAL relationship, that is. In high school, it may be different though. But don't stress over it. I've never had a boyfriend in high school (my friends thought it weird) but I just found all the guys so superficial it sickened me. Plus, I wanted to do what I wanted to do... not to be attached to some guy just for the label of being his "girlfriend." When you get older, you begin to see what it is you want in a partner... and it's not just looks! Sure, looks may be the first thing that attracts a person to another person... but it's personality and compatibility that count most! So hang in there... you're young and you've yet to meet plenty of guys who will be chasing after you! Be smart, be sophisticated, be intriguing, be mysterious. As much as it may SEEM true, guys don't want a ditsy, fake Barbie girl who has no opinion of her own. In my experience, you don't need a boyfriend in high school. It's just a waste of time! ;-)

well simply put that in high school people look upon your looks. yes people are that shallow! Think of this time in your life to get an education and then when you are out men will start taking interest because they tried going for looks and learned that doesnt always work. Give it time and get your education then start thinking of what you want to do with your life and some guy will run across you and will enjoy you for you.

If guys only dated the best looking guys - most of them would never have a dote and only one girl is each school would ever have a date.
Just be the best you - you can be
Time will make your current concerns look foolish.

yes! im only in eigth grade andthere is a guy (NOT CUTE!) who is really into me and i think he is so awesome. i'm average, not really pretty but being around him makes me feel like a superstar!it can happen, actually my advice is DON"T look for ppopular kids, go for the quiet ones or the ones who get picked on or the"outcasts" they are always the nicest and rarley care about looks because people tease them abou their looks.

I have never in my long life been attracted to pretty girls, just be yourself, do not be affected by what you read in magazines or what you perceive guys are looking for. A fair face often hides a false heart. good luck.

There is someone for everyone, also I have seen a lot of girls who think they are not pretty but they really are, so get a make over, let your hair grow out, get a new style, work out and get in shape, you can do it.

Freshmen in high school tend to be pretty shallow, but as you get older, you'll find that men look at more than just how you look.
My husband says he was attracted to me because of my intelligence. It sure as heck wasn't because of my looks...
