pendlebury childrens hospital...5 million, they saved my son when all other health professionals told me he was fine, and are also currently treating my 7 month old nephew who is fighting cancer.

1 million each to british heart foundation and to cancer research...obvious reasons i guess.

I would found my own charity.
Just as you are obviously a kiddy lover, so am I an animal lover.
I come from England where there are a lot of animal charities, but I have lived in Japan for over 20 years, where there are very few.
What few there are, are really inadequade and, unless you live in Tokyo, inaccessible and useless.
I have spent more money than I have earned trying to help the poor animals here. Not to mention all the tears and emotional deposits.
There is so much work to do. I can't do it alone. Such a win would enable me to create a
sanctuary somewhere, and hire some professional help. Advertising and public education would be next on the budget. One day it might lead to a nature reserve.
I deal with abandoned cats and sometimes dogs, and I must say that some kind of support is slowly being awakened in that field. (Mainly neutering and spaying of feral animals and sometimes free medication for treating mange, etc.)
But when it comes to wild animals, I feel totally alone in my fight to save them.
When I had to raise a baby bat, I had to get all my information from the internet, then find a sympathetic vet who listened to my instructions, because no vet here knew what to do and was so used to giving the instructions.
So, if there was enough money for it, perhaps I'd found a special college for vets who wanted to do more than just make money from treating pampered pets. Or at least sponser some to study abroad.
I probably would keep a million for myself, as I am growing old and will get no old age pension nor unemployment money here. That million would secure me and all my adopted creatures a happy future, somewhere away from busy roads and complaining neighbours.
I'd give another million to my closest family members, and divide a half million between loyal friends.
The rest would go to my charity.

good question,
I would set up a new fund for low income schools that do not get the benefit of having parents that are involved because they can not miss a day at work. I would make sure every child had the best education while in the public school system regardless of social class and that the kids in the lower end schools had teachers that were paid very very well to stay there and teach.
I would give those teachers the tools they needed such as more in house councilors, more access to funds to buy any software or books to make a difference and also if needed money to guard the children while in the schools.

Then of course me and my family would go to Hawaii.

I'd probably give it to pediatric cancer research or any other children's hospital. My friend lost her 4 year old to brain cancer.
But I'd probably split the money and put the money in saving accounts for the Children's Hospitla and Cancer Charity. The charities would only be allowed to touch the interest that way $10 million can last them for a much longer time.

You may not agree with my choice, but I would give it to an animal charity, My wee dug was my best mate and I miss him so much since he has gone. If I could have had the benefit of some charity cash when he was hit by a car, I may have been able tae afford the bill tae get him better!!I would give half to the charity, I 'm sure I could live the rest of my life on £5 million, with loads tae spare fur my family and friends!!

If i won $10 million i would give £1 million to the NSPCC becaus ei believe that children should grow up to lead happy and fruitfull lives instead of always being scared to come out of their rooms or frightened to say anything - i am lucky to have a nice and peacefull childhood and am aloud to be free to do what ever i like with in reason. I would also spend however much i needed to set up my own charity in a more undeveloped country like Africa to help families with AIDS or other life frettining conditions.

I would give 1 million each to my family members so they can retire, 1 million each to close friends, then, I will keep the rest to myself for life long investment. As time passes by and things may come into my life, I will give away money to those who really deserve them. or they will walk all over you. If I were to give money to some organization, I will MAKE SURE the money will go DIRECTLY to those who could use a help, NOT some fraud organization trying to collect charity money using GOD or Religion or pity as an excuse to make free money out of you. I would do it quietly, and on local small scale.

I would give the money to the Helen DeVoss Childrens Hospital. For the NICU ( neonatal intensive care unit) for all of the work that they do caring for preemies and their parents. And so they can find more advances. To help all of the children that they take care of every single day.

I don't know what that would be in American dollars, 18 mill. or so? I would give some to family, keep enough to live on comfortably for the rest of my life, and give some to the women's shelter I work for. We have a very small budget and need to hire more people. I would give it for the sole purpose of hiring more people.
