There are several Islamic Universities operating in America. To my knowledge, none of them refuse non-Muslim applicants. Why should they? What better place to share the Islamic teachings and way of life than in an Islamic academic environment?

Salam :) I'm a Muslim teenager living in Canada. I wear hijab alhamdullilah and it's for the most part accepted here since i live in a big city with a sizeable Muslim population. I do get the few ignorant comments and idiots at school though who ask stuff like "yo got a bomb under there hahaha". But the hardest part is being different from your friends. Being a Muslim, parties, alcohol dating boys wearing revealing clothing etc is haram, and while I don't want to do that anyway, it can be a little awkward to have to explain why I don't do it to people who consider it just a part of being a teenager and its ordinary to them. Muslims living in Muslim countries definitely have it easier when it comes to fitting in. And with food it can be a little tricky but I always try to read the label if I'm not sure of the ingredients. But I wouldn't wanna be any other religion no matter how difficult it gets and how different I feel from everyone else, I'm glad to be Muslim :)

I think a muslim college or university can be founded if there are enough number of muslim in the community surrounding such as more than 1 million. If the number of muslim is not enough it is not efficient. to have a special college for muslims..It is better if a general college or university has a comparative study of 2 big religions such as christianity and islam. The christian and muslim students have the right and will be attracted to chose this program.

I would consider going, but I heard that college fees in the US are way above my limits...! I actually think it is good that universities are religiously and culturally mixed, there are many things to learn from people and it's probably around that age or period that people start having constructive discussions about life and the future so the islamic message can reach to different people in the same time. Of course there are non-islamic things going on in universities all over the world, you just have to put your own boundaries over how far you go and never forget your religion and your practice!

Sure a good idea, America is a free counrty and respects all religions, go for it. But muslim only is discrimination, america will not like this on this ground. It should be made open to all. Education is education there is nothing like islamic physics of chemisty. Whats your fear of having people from other faiths studying in the insititution? Muslims are studying in every institution without being discriminated.

I think it might be a good idea. College can be a hard time for young Muslims. For myself.... i think it would be wonderful to be around a large group of people my age with my same limitations and beliefs.
Peace and Blessings,
Sakina

I think it's a really good idea! I think that all religions should have their own colleges/universities. Of course keep the ones that we have already that have a mixture of people there.

I think it's not a problem. If he/she can save her/his believe.I think it will be better if we can get all knowledge over there. And of course we must check the truth. If we just receive the knowledge, that also mean that we don't care with our Islam.Because Islam is religion which teach us to search the truth.Right?

i don't think that would be a very good idea , i like to interact in society and not to feel isolated.
i think that would increase the feeling of hater and racism, ppl have got to know each other and communicate each other to come to a better understanding and life.

I think there is one actually....but it is quite small. And I think it currently only has Islamic studies.
I don't see anything wrong with having one. But it should be open to all just like Christian schools generally are.
