If your life shows evidence of Christ's love, that's good fruit. If your life leads others to salvation, that's good fruit.
If, on the other hand, people say about you "If that's a Christian, I don't want to be one," then it's time to re-evaluate how you're living. Mature Christians aren't offended by such remarks, but utilize them to check themselves.
Others' personal attacks mean little, so far as fruit, but when no one seems to recognize that you're a Christian without being told, introspection is necessary.

scripture gives us specifics on what the fruit of the Spirit is ...
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
(gal.5: 22-25)
have you been baptized with the Holy Ghost??
(acts 2, 8, 10, 19)
these fruits tend to come through quite strongly when you are filled with the Spirit of God.
some people think when they are baptized, they automatically receive God's Spirit.
this is NOT scriptural ... but a twisted teaching of man.
to show this, acts 8:16-17 says,
"Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
**** (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) ****
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. "
vs. 14 shows that they BELIEVED .... but that's not enough.
vs. 15 shows they had NOT received the Holy Ghost
vs. 16 shows they had only been baptized "IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS" (not "father, son, holy ghost.... as these are titles & have NO power to remit sin ... only Jesus name can do that)
vs 17 shows they received the Holy Ghost only after the apostles laid hands on them.
acts 2:4 says that when the 120 were filled with the Holy Ghost, they
"began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
Jesus said in john 3 "ye must be born again."
then He explained in john 3 how the infilling of His Spirit works ...
it's like the wind. you can't see it, but it's there.
the evidence of the wind is the sound.
the same w/ receiving the Holy Ghost, you will ALWAYS hear a sound ... speaking in tongues.
many people won't receive this.
the apostle paul had this to say about those people ....
"Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye."
(acts 7:51)
the same holds true for people today.
please read the book of acts. it's the only book in the Bible that tells HOW to be born again.

do you know what virtue is? well virtues are the fruit and if you see or can tell a virtue from it's opposite, you're set! it's pretty easy but then it can be hard if the person comes off as being virtuous even though they aren't.
this is an important "life skill" because without knowing who is good and who is bad you could end up in the wrong place with the wrong friends.

The Bible says the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, patience, temperance, peace, etc. If these are what you are producing, then you are bearing good fruit.

when you share the gospel of Jesus you will have some accept. When you help the poor, widow, lonely, sick, etc. and do it to help and not to have a "photo shot" and vain glory (to have people praise you for what you are doing). If you don't share the gospel, don't help needy ( or only help when you feel people will notice and praise you probably won't have much if any fruit).
A person has to know Jesus to bear "good fruit".
Read:
John 3:15-21
Eph 2:8-9
2 Peter 3
Matt 24-25

The bible tells us what the fruit of the spirit is: kindness, love, mercy, forgiveness, compassion, humility. Are we exhibiting these things in our day to day lives? If yes, we are bearing fruit. If no, we are not.
