With Kyle Busch going to Gibbs, who can you put in the #8 DEI car? Jeremy Mayfield is leaving BDR and that is who I would go with. Despite Kahne getting the best equipment, he qualified for the chase twice in Evernham's 2nd best stuff. I know he has stunk up in the #36, but I think that would have been anyone.
Your thoughts?
If not Jeremy, who then?

bryghtendeavors,
Thank you for your answer, but if you do not like NASCAR, then do not watch it.
And NASCAR is called a MOTOR sport.

All good opinions.. but no one is saying who to put in the #8. Mark Martin does not count.

Taking Yeley over Mayfield is interesting. But you still have to accept the fact that Jeremy has won, and Jeremy made the chase both years that he was in decent equipment. You cannot argue with that. Yeley has talent, but a sponsor wants someone who has done the job before. DEI has enough youth. Bring on Mayfield.

Absolutely. Jeremy Mayfield it a very talented driver who is just out of a good ride at the present. Strap that boy into a decent car and you'll see poetry in motion. He has great potential.

Dont like Jeremy Mayfield.....Not even when he was with Penske and winning races....Not when he was with Ray Evernham, and certaining not now with Bill Davis Racing. The guy cant drive nails.....
The face of the company at DEI will be Matin Truex... Move him into the #8 and put JJ Yalley in the #1. Keep Paul Menard in the #15 and Mark Martin sharing time with David Regan in the 01...

regrettably, I doubt JJ would even qualify. Jeremy has purely qualified 4 circumstances since Daytona and JJ isn't bringing extra to the table than Jeremy has. it somewhat is purely too undesirable for Jeremy. all the articles I study suggested the medicine in contact had no longer been revealed. I doubt it is going to ever learn. I particular wish it became into an harmless mistake and could be labored out. NASCAR actually has a no charm coverage in this. circulate Jr.>>>>

I think it is a good choice since Mayfield has been through the wringer already the pressure won't hurt him, then after a couple of years you can get a young driver (almost said guy but that may not be right in a couple of years) to take up seat

Max has said the will get an experienced marquis driver for the position vacated by Jr. Jeremy does not fit that description and the young people they already have do not either. Look for a quality driver to make a big move.

I agree that Mark Martin would do great in the 8 if he can be persuaded to run the full schedule next year, then break in a younger driver. I wish Kyle Busch had taken the #8, he is three times the driver as Earnhardt will ever be, but oh well. Hendrick's loss is Gibbs's gain, looks like.

I think Mayfield is washed up. He was a descent racer the time he beat Earnhardt at Pocono, but what has he done since. Exactly, nothin'. Go away Jeremy.

NO! Can't stand Mr. Mayfield or her husband Jeremy.
Put Mark Martin in the 8!

No way....Teresa Earnhardt needs to give Dale Jr the 8, that will solve this issue, only Dale Jr belongs in the number 8...

Free the 8..
